How & Where to Watch American Horror Story Season 12 & Previous Seasons in 2025
If you’re ready for a new bout of drama and horror from the AHS series, season 12 is almost here. You can stream American Horror Story on a few platforms, but geoblocks may be an issue. This guide shares how and where to watch American Horror Story season 12 online.
Horror fans will be pleased that a new season of American Horror Story is about to premiere. Season 12, Delicate, is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 20. It’s an anthology series, so it won’t continue from the previous season. You get a completely new story. If you want to know how and where to watch American Horror Story season 12, this guide is for you.
The show has had a few controversial moments, such as in AHS: Coven, where immortal slave-torturer Delphine LaLaurie is decapitated and then forced to watch Roots. The whole series incorporates a good mix of the supernatural, evil, deaths and disappearances. We’ll have to see what season 12 has in store.
On a side note, this is not to be mixed up with the American Horror Stories series. That’s a different anthology series in the AHS franchise that has a different horror story for each episode.
Where you can watch American Horror Story depends on where you’re located. There are a few choices, but they’re region-restricted, meaning you’ll need to use a top VPN if you want to access it from another region. We recommend using NordVPN, and we’ll show you how to use it further down.

Where to Watch American Horror Story
As we just mentioned, geoblocks play a big part in where you can watch American Horror Story, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bypass them.
For the most part, geoblocks are put in place to stop viewers from accessing a show in a region where the streaming service doesn’t hold the rights to show it. Likewise, if an entire streaming service is only allowed in one location, it’ll implement geoblocks to stop viewers from outside that region from accessing it.
By using a virtual private network (VPN), you can connect to a server in the region where it’s available and access it. You’re basically fooling the service into thinking you’re actually located in the right region.
Which Streaming Services Have American Horror Story?
Any live TV streaming service will have American Horror Story on the FX channel. For U.S. viewers, season 12 premiers on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. EST. and the next four episodes will air weekly. We don’t yet know when part two will premiere.

If you don’t have cable, you can use a live TV streaming service that carries the FX channel to watch it, such as Sling TV, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV or YouTube TV. Alternatively, you can watch it the next day on Hulu. All 11 previous seasons are available on Hulu, too. With all of these options being in the U.S., you’ll need to use a VPN if you’re not in the country.
AHS is also on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S., but only seasons 1 through 10 are free with Prime. Season 11 is only available for purchase, and we don’t know when season 12 will be on the service.
Elsewhere, you can stream American Horror Story on Disney Plus. We checked the U.K., Canada and France, but it should be in other Disney Plus regions, except the U.S., where Hulu has the market. It’s also available in Australia on both Binge and Disney Plus. That said, we don’t yet know when season 12 will be on the Disney+ platform.

Is American Horror Story on Netflix?
No, unfortunately, the American Horror Story series is not available on Netflix. It used to be on the platform, but Netflix’s license to stream the show ended at the beginning of March 2022. With Disney acquiring Fox and the company making an effort to keep its content on Disney+, Netflix’s AHS license wasn’t renewed.
We’re not sure if it will ever return to the platform due to Disney+ and a couple of other streaming services having the rights to it, but you can keep an eye on Netflix just in case. That includes checking other regions’ libraries, too.
How to Access Other Netflix Libraries
Checking a different Netflix library is an easy task so long as you have a decent VPN at hand. All you need to do is connect to a server in the country you want to check and then log in to your Netflix account as usual.
Netflix will think you’re actually located in that country and show you content that’s available there. If you want to check a different library, connect to a different server and try again.
How to Watch American Horror Story for Free
You can’t stream American Horror Story on a free streaming service like Tubi or Pluto TV, but there is a way for you to watch it for free.
Hulu offers a free 30-day trial to new customers. However, you’ll need a U.S. payment method to sign up. If you don’t have one, you can use a prepaid U.S. credit card. That said, the 30 days will only just get you through all five episodes. You’ll need to wait until after the first episode has aired to guarantee you can watch it all.
If you need a VPN to access Hulu in the U.S., you can use a VPN’s money-back guarantee to get a refund when you’re done.

The Best VPNs for Watching American Horror Story
There are a lot of VPNs on the market, some good, some not so good. It’s essential to choose one that has fast enough speeds to provide a decent stream and can unblock streaming services easily. Our selections below can do that and more.
1. NordVPN — Best Streaming VPN

Very Fast

Very Fast

Very Fast
NordVPN is the best VPN that we rate highly. It can get into streaming services around the world easily, has servers in 60 countries and often has the fastest worldwide speeds. You’re also covered by top-notch security and apps are available for many device types.
That said, its apps are pretty much the same on all devices and include an interactive server map. While we do think it’s a good feature and is nice to look at, that’s only really true for desktops. It doesn’t work very well on smaller mobile screens.
NordVPN has a cheap two-year plan available if you don’t mind signing up for that long. If you’re a little uneasy about it, know that there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee in place. Read our NordVPN review for more.
2. Surfshark — Best VPN for Streaming With Unlimited Connections

Very Fast

Very Fast

Very Fast
Surfshark is able to access streaming sites like Hulu and Disney Plus from 100 countries around the world. With its intuitive interface and reliably fast speeds, you shouldn’t have any issues streaming American Horror Story. Surfshark is also a very secure VPN with many security tools, but you can read more about that in our Surfshark review.
We particularly like Surfshark for its deals on long-term plans. If you get a two-year plan, the basic VPN will only cost $2.19 per month. Even the full security suite plan is more affordable than a service like ExpressVPN. You also get a 30-day money-back guarantee, in case you’re concerned about subscribing for a long period.

3. ExpressVPN — Easy to Use Streaming VPN

Very Fast

Very Fast

Very Fast
ExpressVPN is another VPN that we rate highly. That’s because it has no trouble unblocking streaming services, and with thousands of servers in more than 100 countries, you have plenty of choices. It also provides fast speeds, strong security and user-friendly apps that are available on most devices.
ExpressVPN’s cost isn’t so great. Even with the two-year plan, it’s pricier than other VPNs. Still, you do get a quality service for your money, and whichever plan you choose, you’re covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee if you don’t like it. Read our ExpressVPN review for more information.
American Horror Story Cast, Characters & Plot
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, AHS is an anthology series that has a completely different horror story each season. So far, the stories have centered around, in no particular order, a family in a haunted house, a coven of witches, a summer camp, the apocalypse, a group of killer clowns and an asylum with a whole drama between a husband and wife, to name a few.
Season 12, Delicate, is a thriller based on Danielle Valentine’s novel Delicate Condition. The story is based in New York and follows actress Anna Alcott as she struggles to juggle her career and in vitro fertilization (IVF). After appointments are moved so she misses them and medicines go missing, she’s sure someone out there is determined to stop her from getting pregnant and even suspects she is being followed.
She finally gets pregnant, but even more concerning things happen, and after she is told she has had a miscarriage, Anna is certain she can still feel the baby moving. Her symptoms worsen. She’s sure there’s something wrong, but no one will listen, not even her husband. The question is, what is growing inside of her?
The cast for American Horror Story changes for each new season, but some actors have performed in multiple seasons, such as Evan Peters, who is AHS’s longest-serving cast member. Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are back once again for the 12th season. Here’s the known cast list for season 12 so far.
Character | Performer |
---|---|
Anna Victoria Alcott | Emma Roberts |
Siobhan Walsh | Kim Kardashian |
Ivy | Cara Delevingne |
Dexter Harding Jr. | Matt Czuchry |
Dr. Andrew Hill | Denis O’Hare |
Nicolette | Michaela Jaé Rodriguez |
Talia | Juliana Canfield |
Io Preecher | Julie White |
Adeline Harding / Sonia Shawcross | Annabelle Dexter-Jones |
Kamal | Maaz Ali |
Cora | Tavi Gevinson |
Theo | Zo Tipp |

1 | Murder House | 2011 |
2 | Asylum | 2012 |
3 | Coven | 2013 |

We already know that there will be a 13th season, too, with FX announcing that there will be three more seasons in 2020, taking it through to season 13. However, it’s too early to know the release date for season 13. The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike may mean we have to wait a little longer than usual.
Final Thoughts

If you’re not in a country that has American Horror Story, a VPN can help you access it. We recommend NordVPN, which has a 30-day money-back guarantee for peace of mind.
