Highlights of the online storage service include end-to-end encryption with pCloud Crypto, file storage with pCloud Drive, robust file sharing with pCloud Transfer, backup options with pCloud Backup, and strong privacy.

In this guide, we’ll touch briefly on pCloud’s lifetime plans, analyze each of the monthly plans or yearly plan options in detail, and compare pCloud’s plans to similar competitor plans.

pCloud Pricing Plans

pCloud offers a generous free plan with up to 10GB to get you going with the service. Most of the free storage space requires the completion of simple tasks, such as verifying your email, uploading a file or inviting friends.

Still, chances are you’ll outgrow the base amount. When that happens, it’s time to consider one of pCloud’s paid plans. pCloud separates its plans into three categories: individual, family and business. All these plans come with a 10-day money-back guarantee.

For our pCloud pricing guide, we won’t focus on its family plans or the individual custom plan. These plans only come as a pCloud lifetime subscription, which we cover in our pCloud Lifetime article.

The Premium plan is pCloud’s lowest-priced individual plan. It comes with 500GB of storage, and allows you to pay monthly or annually. The monthly option costs , while the annual plan is $49.99. pCloud’s other individual option is the Premium Plus plan. This plan has 2TB of storage at per month or an annual payment of $99.99.

Business Plans

If you’re in the market for a business-focused plan, pCloud has two choices: Business or Business Pro. Both plans require at least three users.

The Business plan costs $9.99 per user per month when paid monthly, and drops to $7.99 per user per month when paid annually. Each user gets 1TB of storage.

The Business Pro plan has unlimited storage and costs $19.98 per month per user or $19.98 per user per month with the annual option.

Businesses can choose from 1TB per user or upgrade to unlimited storage per user.

pCloud Extras

pCloud encrypts your data in transit and at rest, making it a secure and private cloud storage provider. However, pCloud Crypto adds an additional layer of protection for your most sensitive or confidential files by including a zero-knowledge folder to your account.

Business plans come with pCloud Crypto included. Unfortunately, you’ll need to pay extra for pCloud Crypto as an individual user. The only choice — aside from a lifetime option — is the annual plan at $49.99; the lifetime cost is $150.

Adding an encrypted folder costs extra for individual accounts.

There’s another optional paid add-on: link traffic. Link traffic comes from shared links that recipients either stream or download from. pCloud Basic, Premium and Premium plus come with 50GB, 500GB and 2TB of link traffic included in the plans.

However, you can add more link traffic. Options range from 2TB to 20TB of additional link streaming, increasing in 2TB increments. Adding 2TB of link traffic costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually.

Is pCloud Good Value for Money?

Paying by the month looks like the cheaper option in the short term. However, you’ll need to choose the annual or lifetime options to get the best per-month price on any plan, individual or business.

Between pCloud’s two individual plans, the better value of the two is the Premium Plus plan. The price doubles from on the 500GB Premium plan to per month or annually to $99.99. However, you gain an additional 1.5TB of storage space.

Choosing either plan brings the same features and upgrades from a free account, such as 30-day extended file history or 30-day file versioning.

pCloud Compared to Other Cloud Storage

pCloud offers competitive plans when compared to other popular cloud storage providers. For example, Sync.com’s 2TB plan costs $8 per month, which is slightly cheaper than pCloud, though there’s no monthly billing option.

Monthly Price per TB, Annual Subscriptions

The cost per GB for pCloud and Sync.com’s annual 2TB plans averages almost the same. pCloud averages 4.9 cents per GB, while Sync.com averages 4.7 cents per GB. (Read our Sync.com review for more details about the service.)

Icedrive’s Pro I plan compares similarly to the pCloud Premium plan. Icedrive offers 1TB at $7.99 per month or $71.88 annually. This plan doubles the storage of pCloud’s Premium choice of 500GB.

The cost per GB for Icedrive averages 5.8 cents a year when paying per month or 4.9 cents when paying annually. pCloud’s Premium plan doubles to 11.7 cents per GB per year when paid monthly or 9.7 cents annually. (Read our Icedrive review for more details about the service.)

We rounded the per-GB prices of all plans to one decimal place for clarity.

Business Plan Value

Choosing between the two business plans depends on how much storage each member of your team needs. If the Business plan with 1TB per user isn’t enough, you’ll need the Business Pro plan with unlimited storage. Like the individual plans, both business plans come with the same features, including pCloud Crypto and 180-day file versioning.

Businesses have a tougher choice between pCloud and Sync.com, as both have nearly identical plans. With the pCloud Business annual subscription, however, the price per user is nearly $2 more than Sync.com.

pCloud’s Business Pro plan with unlimited storage is again almost $2 more per user per month, although the annual cost per user is just under $1 more. As pCloud’s business plans include pCloud Crypto, these prices remain competitive with Sync.com.

pCloud vs Sync.com Business Plans

Final Thoughts

If you’ve outgrown the free cloud storage account with pCloud, the Premium Plus plan with 2TB of storage offers the best value for individual users. It’s comparable with other paid plans from competitors such as Sync.com. The lifetime plans also bring great value if you plan to stick with the cloud storage service for more than three years.

However, if you are a business in need of cloud storage, pCloud Business has 1TB per user and includes pCloud Crypto.
