What better way to celebrate 20 years of the Harry Potter franchise than binge-watching all Harry Potter movies? In this guide, we’ll tell you how to watch Harry Potter movies and on which streaming service.
Before you put on your comfy pajama pants and open Netflix, though, you should know that Harry Potter is no longer available on Netflix, except for Netflix Australia. That doesn’t mean you can’t watch Harry Potter movies, though; we will show you how by using the magic of VPNs.
- As the Harry Potter franchise completes 20 years, Potterheads will want to know where they can binge-watch the full series, especially for free.
- Harry Potter is available on Peacock (only the first three movies are free, though), Netflix Australia, Amazon Prime Video India, websites like 123Movies and torrents.
- In most cases, the use of a VPN is warranted to either bypass geoblocks or for security and privacy; we recommend ExpressVPN as the top streaming VPN choice.
- You may also consider renting or buying Harry Potter movies on platforms such as iTunes, Google Play Store, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Microsoft Store or YouTube.
Although the Harry Potter series was previously available on Netflix (worldwide) and briefly on HBO Max (between June 1 and June 30, 2021), both streaming services have removed the films now — with the exception of Netflix Australia.
For now, Peacock is the only streaming service in the U.S. that has the full Harry Potter series. If you’re outside the U.S., though, you’ll need a VPN to bypass Peacock’s geoblocks and watch a Harry Potter film.
Still, all eight movies remain available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, though Prime users in India can access the series with their membership.
Updated the information on where the Harry Potter films are available for streaming and added step-by-step instructions on how to stream Harry Potter with a VPN.
You can watch the first three Harry Potter movies for free on Peacock, provided you’re in the U.S. Alternatively, you can use a VPN and connect to a U.S. server. If you already have a Netflix subscription, you can use a VPN to connect to an Australian server to stream Harry Potter movies for free. You could also use websites like 123Movies or a torrent, but be sure to use a VPN.
No. While Harry Potter movies are available on Amazon Prime Video for free to Indian viewers, you can still buy or rent the series. Alternatively, you can use a VPN and connect to an Indian server if you already have an Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Unfortunately, the movies are only available on Netflix Australia. That means if you’re outside of Australia, you can’t stream Harry Potter on Netflix unless you use a VPN and connect to an Australian server to access Netflix’s Australia library.
If you’re a fan of the wizarding world, you should know that J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. have been working on the third Fantastic Beasts movie set to release in July 2022. The pandemic and Johnny Depp’s exit as the Grindelwald have delayed the original release date in the second half of 2021.
If you and your friends want to get together to watch Harry Potter on the big screen, you can also buy or rent the series from various platforms, including iTunes, Google Play Store, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Microsoft Store or YouTube.
How to Watch Harry Potter: Streaming on Peacock
All eight Harry Potter films are available on Peacock, but there’s a catch. The first three Harry Potter movies (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)are available for users with a free, standard subscription. However, to access the remaining five films, you’ll need a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus subscription.
How Long Will the Harry Potter Movies Be Available to Stream on Peacock?
Warner Bros. and NBCUniversal (NBCU) signed a deal where NBCU assumed the exclusive Pay 2 window rights for the Wizarding World franchise, which includes both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.
NBCU has since taken the Harry Potter movies on and off the Peacock platform multiple times, with the series first appearing in October 2020 and being available to all users for free, but with ads. The second time around, the series was available only to Premium and Premium Plus users.
Among the list of titles leaving Peacock in August 2021 are all eight Harry Potter movies, though NBCU’s deal with Warner Bros. doesn’t expire until April 2025. That means you’ll probably see the Harry Potter series on Peacock until then, though the series may occasionally disappear if Warner Bros. creates another carve-out deal to add the films to HBO Max.
How to Watch Harry Potter: Free
Peacock is the only legitimate, free source for Harry Potter fans in the U.S. to watch Harry, Dumbledore, Voldemort, Ron and Hermione take Hogwarts by storm. If you’re outside the U.S., though, Peacock isn’t an option unless you use a VPN because the streaming service has geoblocks to limit access only to U.S. viewers.
Other than Peacock, you can watch the Harry Potter series for free on websites like Soap2day and 123Movies. While these websites are completely free, pesky ads and pop-ups can be rather annoying, so consider using one of our favorite ad blockers.
Although we can’t recommend torrenting or streaming Harry Potter films from websites like 123Movies because of copyright infringement (only a dark wizard does that), if you do prefer torrenting, you need a VPN to stay safe. Plus, it can help you bypass geoblocks while you try to stream Harry Potter movies.
NordVPN is our best VPN for torrenting, but ExpressVPN is an excellent choice, too. Read our full NordVPN review and ExpressVPN review to learn about each provider’s features in detail.

How to Stream All the Harry Potter Movies in Order
After Warner Bros. wrapped up the wizard boy’s story with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011, it seemed the wizarding world would come to an end. As it turns out, Warner Bros. wasn’t going to give up its magical cash cow just yet, and in 2016, released the first Harry Potter spin-off movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The Fantastic Beasts series is set in 1926 New York City, about 70 years before Harry joins Hogwarts. This may mess up the timeline of the Harry Potter movies for Potterheads, so we thought a primer on how to go about watching these movies was appropriate. Below we’ve listed all the Harry Potter movies in both release order and chronological order.

Harry Potter is one of the most loved series of movies worldwide, and it’s time for Potterheads to celebrate the 20th anniversary. Except for Australian viewers with a Netflix subscription or Indian viewers with an Amazon Prime Video subscription, streaming the full Harry Potter series for free will require a VPN.

ExpressVPN is our top suggestion for streaming, and NordVPN is our top choice for torrenting. Both VPNs are extremely safe, fast and come with 30-day money-back guarantees.
