Outstanding reality-competition program The Amazing Race is back once again with a 35th season. The global race to win a million dollars begins Sept. 27, with 13 teams in the running. If you can’t wait to see how this season’s contest progresses, this guide shares how and where to watch The Amazing Race season 35, as well as previous seasons.

Just like fellow reality TV show Survivor, The Amazing Race is a CBS series, meaning streaming options are mostly limited to the U.S. Don’t fret, though. A virtual private network (VPN) will help you bypass any geoblocks you face, and if you’re in a rush, we recommend using ExpressVPN. It’s the best VPN you can get; try it for yourself with the 30-day money-back guarantee.

We rewrote this article to include information on the show and season 35. We also updated the how-to portion and included Proton VPN as a free option for streaming.

Where to Watch The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race is a CBS show, meaning the CBS channel is its home. Those with cable or satellite subscriptions can easily tune in to the CBS channel when it airs. If you want to watch The Amazing Race online, you’ll need Paramount Plus — originally called CBS All Access — or a live TV streaming platform that carries the CBS channel.

Those options are for the U.S. only, but you can hop on a U.S. VPN server to access the show if needed. Doing so will make you look like you’re in the U.S. and will open the doors to multiple streaming options.

Which Streaming Services Have The Amazing Race Worldwide?

The Amazing Race season 35 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 27 on CBS. If you want to watch the CBS channel online but don’t have a cable or satellite login, you can subscribe to a live TV streaming platform, such as YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV.

cbs the amazing race
The Amazing Race season 35 is available on the CBS channel and Paramount Plus in the U.S.

Unless you want the extra channels, though, a cheaper way would be to sign up for Paramount Plus. Season 35 will also stream there, since Paramount+ is CBS’s own streaming platform.

Paramount+ is available in countries outside the U.S. too, but the new season of The Amazing Race won’t be found there, at least just yet. The content available differs in each country, so although we also found all 34 previous seasons on Paramount Plus in the U.S., only two seasons are on the service in Australia, and we didn’t see any in the U.K. or Canada.

Various seasons are available on services in other countries too, but if you want the full package, you’ll need Paramount Plus’ U.S. library. If you’re not in the country, you can use a VPN to get access. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a U.S. payment method to sign up (we mention a workaround in our how-to further down).

Here are all the popular services where we found The Amazing Race:

Is The Amazing Race on Netflix?

Yes, you can watch The Amazing Race on Netflix in the U.S. However, there are only two seasons available (seasons five and seven). That’s not many, considering there are a total of 34 to date. Still, if you’ve never watched the show and have a Netflix account, it’s a perfect way for you to see if you like the show before splashing out on another service.

There are two seasons of The Amazing Race on Netflix U.S.

More seasons could become available, but it’s unlikely. However, you can check Netflix every now and then to see if it’s available, and that includes checking Netflix in other countries — in case you didn’t know, Netflix content varies by region.

How to Unblock Netflix US & Other Libraries

To unblock a different Netflix region, you need a VPN. Find a server in the region that you want to check and connect to it. Then, log in to your Netflix account, and you should see that region’s content library. You can do this as many times as you’d like and with any of the countries where Netflix is available, so long as the VPN has a server there.

How to Watch The Amazing Race Free With a VPN

To watch The Amazing Race for free, you can sign up for a Paramount Plus free trial. In this section, we’ll show you how to do that outside of the U.S. by using a VPN. We’ve used ExpressVPN as our example. Let’s get into it.

Keep in mind that a Paramount Plus trial only lasts for seven days, which means you’ll only be able to watch the first episode for free. To watch the entire season, you can wait until it concludes, and then stream all episodes using the free trial.

  1. Subscribe to ExpressVPN

Subscribe to ExpressVPN by going to the website and choosing a plan. The annual plan works out the cheapest in the long run, and there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee on all plans.

The Best VPNs for Streaming The Amazing Race

To watch The Amazing Race online, you need a VPN that has fast speeds and can unblock Paramount Plus or a streaming service with the CBS channel. Our recommendations below have exactly what you need and more.

1. ExpressVPN

expressvpn app us
Its fast speeds and unblocking ability make ExpressVPN the best VPN for streaming.

  • Unblocks streaming apps
  • Excellent streaming speeds
  • Easy to use applications

  • Pricey

We’ve tested ExpressVPN with a ton of streaming platforms and it easily unblocks them every time. That means you’ll be able to watch online episodes of The Amazing Race on Paramount+ or a live TV streaming platform without issue. It also has fast speeds to ensure you enjoy a top-quality stream. ExpressVPN’s network includes servers in more than 20 U.S. locations.

Its apps are easy to use, you can download them on most devices and you’ll be protected by ExpressVPN’s strong security while you stream. Its long-term plans cost more than other VPNs, but we’re confident you’ll be happy with the service’s reliability. Plus, it has a 30-day money-back guarantee you can use as a month-long free trial. Read our ExpressVPN review for more.

2. NordVPN

hulu nordvpn us
NordVPN’s speeds are some of the fastest, and it offers an affordable two-year plan.

  • Fastest speeds
  • Cheap 2-year plan
  • Built-in ad blocker

  • Server map is hard to navigate on mobile

NordVPN is another top choice for streaming The Amazing Race. It has plenty of servers in the U.S., has some of the fastest average speeds (see our VPN speed comparison) and can easily access streaming platforms. Its app is easy to use and includes a interactive server map, which is nice on desktop but can be a little hard to use on smaller screens.

NordVPN also has great security features and an included ad blocker, allowing you to skip annoying ads on Paramount+. It’s also a more affordable option, so long as you don’t mind signing up for two years. There’s a 30-day money-back guarantee you can take advantage of, though. Read our NordVPN review to find out more.

3. Proton VPN

Proton VPN has a free plan that includes unlimited data and access to U.S. servers.

  • Free plan with unlimited data
  • Free U.S. servers
  • Accesses streaming apps

  • Paid plans are expensive

If you need a free VPN to watch The Amazing Race, Proton VPN is the best choice. Although we don’t usually recommend free VPNs due to security flaws and unreliability, Proton VPN is a reputable service that offers a free plan. That free plan includes unlimited data and access to U.S. servers.

Speeds are good, though the free servers can sometimes become overloaded, and the VPN can access streaming platforms. Upgrading to the paid plan unlocks more server locations, and if you want to try it, there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee. Read our Proton VPN review for more information.

The Amazing Race Season 35 Cast & Plot

The Amazing Race has been on our screens since 2001 with the same host, Phil Keoghan. It’s an adventure reality-TV game show that takes multiple teams of two people on a global race.

As the teams arrive at each location, they have to compete against the other teams, facing mental and physical challenges on each leg. The teams are expected to navigate the area and local culture in order to arrive at the next location in time. The last team to arrive at each checkpoint is eliminated. The goal is to be the first team to reach the final destination, winning the round.

This season, we’ll see the teams begin their race at the Hollywood sign in LA. They’ll then embark on a trek of more than 20,000 miles around the world to locations such as Slovenia, India, Thailand, Germany and many more. Here’s a list of the teams in this season’s competition for the grand prize of $1 million dollars.
