Surfshark is the best budget alternative to NordVPN. It offers many of the same amenities, such as New Zealand servers, fast speeds, ad blocking, and a near-perfect unblocking ability. However, it’s not the best for torrenting, and it locks some features behind higher payment tiers, while NordVPN’s best deal includes all of its advanced features.
Still, Surfshark is more than worth considering, costing just $1.99 per month on a two-year plan. You can get your money back within 30 days, guaranteed, in case you change your mind after purchasing. Read our Surfshark review for more.

Bel-Air Cast, Characters & Plot (No Spoilers)
‘Bel-Air’ is a reimagined version of the original series, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.’ The base storyline is the same, with teenager Will Smith (now played by Jabari Banks) moving away from his mother Vy (April Parker Jones) in West Philadelphia to live with his wealthy Aunt, Uncle and the rest of the Banks family in Bel-Air.
At the beginning of the new series, we see a bit more of Will’s journey and get a better look at the challenges the character faces before he moves to a life of privilege in LA. The first two seasons follow Will as he navigates old challenges that collide with his new life.
The season 3 synopsis reveals more hurdles for the Banks family, with the return of Will’s dad Lou, relationship issues and Carlton’s struggles with anxiety and addiction. Season 3 also brings back an old face from the original ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ — Joseph Marcell, who played butler Geoffrey. However, we’re not sure what his character or role will be in the new series.
While the new ‘Bel-Air’ show does have new cast members, we’ve already been treated to a few cameos from some of the old actors. Daphne Maxwell Reid, who played the (second) original Aunt Viv and Vernee Watson-Johnson, who played Will’s mum Vy, guest starred as Helen and Janice, members of the Art Council Board of Trustees, for one episode.
Plus, Tatyana Ali, who played the original Ashley, made an appearance as Ashley’s English teacher. Will Smith himself has not made an appearance yet and we don’t know if he ever will, but he does serve as executive producer for the series. We’ve provided a table below with all the known cast and characters for season 3.
Character | Performer |
---|---|
‘Will Smith’ | Jabari Banks |
‘Philip Banks’ aka Uncle Phil | Adrian Holmes |
‘Vivian Banks’ aka Aunt Viv | Cassandra Freeman |
‘Carlton Banks’ | Olly Sholotan |
‘Hilary Banks’ | Coco Jones |
‘Ashley Banks’ | Akira Akbar |
‘Geoffrey’ | Jimmy Akingbola |
‘Lisa’ | Simone Joy Jones |
‘Jazz’ | Jordan L. Jones |
‘Lou’ (Will’s dad) | Marlon Wayans |
‘Geoffrey’ (the original) | Joseph Marcell |

Final Thoughts
Fans of the original series, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ starring Will Smith, might miss the comedic antics from the more lighthearted story, but that’s not to say the reimagined ‘Bel-Air’ is not good. While the basis is the same, it has a darker and more mature story than the original ‘Fresh Prince’ and certainly a new set of fans too.
Remember, if you want to tune in to the new episodes for free, live or on-demand, you can use a VPN server to access TVNZ+ in New Zealand. We recommend NordVPN for the job, as you can use its money-back guarantee to get a refund.
Where will you watch ‘Bel-Air’ season 3? Will you need to use a VPN to watch it? If you do, which VPN will you use? Which do you prefer, the original series ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ or the newer show ‘Bel-Air?’ Let us know in the comment section and, as always, thank you for reading.
