In June, Microsoft removed the ability to add or import new passwords to the Authenticator app, and in July the autofill function will be disabled and all payment information will be deleted.

Although any saved passwords won’t be available in Authenticator as of August, they are synced to users Microsoft account so users can still autofill them when using the Edge browser. Users will need to enable Edge as their autofill provider.

However, Authenticator will continue to support passkeys; to continue using Authenticator as a Passkey provider, users should not disable Authenticator.
Password managers are one of the best online privacy and security tools to keep people’s information secure. We highly recommend taking any saved passwords from Authenticator and migrating them to a good password manager.
