Anime Streaming Service Crunchyroll Raises All U.S. Monthly Subscription Prices by $2
Crunchyroll increased pricing across all tiers in the United States—just weeks after removing its free tier option.

Crunchyroll announced the U.S. price changes would start immediately for new subscribers, while existing monthly paid subscribers would face the increase after March 4, 2026.
All subscription tiers increased by $2 per month. The Fan Tier increased from $7.99 per month to $9.99 per month; the Mega Fan Tier increased from $11.99 per month to $13.99 per month; and the Ultimate Fan Tier increased from $15.99 per month to $17.99 per month.
It’s worth noting that all Crunchyroll tiers offer ad-free streaming, compared to many streaming competitors who have embraced ad-supported models, like Netflix.
To soften the blow, the anime streaming service made a limited time offer for members to upgrade to the Fan Annual Plan for $66.99 per year, which breaks down to $5.58 per month.
According to Crunchyroll’s announcement, the price increases are intended to help “expand its anime offerings worldwide” and to “give fans more of what they love.”
The price increases mark the first time the Fan Tier has increased since 2019, though the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan tiers increased in May 2024. However, at that time there was a free tier.
Sony, Crunchyroll’s owners since 2020, reduced the number of Crunchyroll’s free titles in 2024, then removed the free tier entirely on Dec. 31, 2025, just over four weeks before this current price increase.
