Apple TV and Formula 1 — the partnership that brought us the blockbuster ‘F1’ movie this year — is teaming up again, this time for the entire F1 streaming rights in the U.S. The five-year deal will start in 2026, with Apple TV streaming all F1 practice, qualifying, Spring sessions and Grands Prix.

Apple’s announcement of the partnership offered details of what F1 fans can expect. U.S.-based Apple TV subscribers will be able to watch all content for free as part of their subscription, while the Apple TV app will offer some select races and all practice sessions for free — no subscription needed.

An Apple TV subscription currently costs $12.99 per month or $99 per year, though new Apple TV subscribers usually get the first three months for free.

If you’re in the U.S. and don’t want to become an Apple TV subscriber, you will likely still have the option to use a VPN to stream F1 content from other regions. We will update our guide on how to watch F1 races once the partnership takes effect.

“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front-row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services in the company’s announcement. “2026 marks a transformative new era for Formula 1, from new teams to new regulations and cars with the best drivers in the world, and we look forward to delivering premium and innovative fan-first coverage to our customers in a way that only Apple can.”

In F1’s announcement of the partnership, Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1’s president and CEO, said, “We are no strangers to each other, having spent the past three years working together to create F1 The Movie, which has already proven to be a huge hit around the world. We have a shared vision to bring this amazing sport to our fans in the U.S. and entice new fans through live broadcasts, engaging content, and a year-round approach to keep them hooked.”
