On the downside, coverage isn’t the best for Jetpac’s global plan, and the service’s validity periods are often shorter than those of competitors.

How Does Jetpac eSIM Work?
Most of Jetpac’s data packages come with a set amount of gigabytes and a validity period, though unlimited plans have recently been added that cover 37 countries.
You pick one of these plans based on your needs and where you’re heading. For example, you might want data for a single country or a package that covers several countries in a region like Asia or Europe.
After you’ve bought your pack, you’ll need to install it and tweak some phone settings to make sure it can activate once you’re in your destination (see the tutorials further down). You can install your pack at any time, but the data can be used only in the location or locations you’ve selected.

User-Friendliness & Hands-On Testing
Jetpac is a very user-friendly provider; even complete beginners should have no issues navigating the simple, well-organized app. On the home tab, you can see your data usage — ideal for quickly checking if you’re running low — and a prompt that leads to the plan pages.
Plans are neatly divided into single- and multi-country options, and there’s a search bar to speed up your search. Within the country and region tabs are lists of available plans ordered by the number of gigabytes. When you buy a package, you’ll receive an email with detailed installation instructions and an overview of your plan details.
If you head over to the “help” tab, you’ll find an eSIM management tab, an emergency hotlines list (handy for travelers) and links to WhatsApp chat and email support. Overall, we found using the app and installing our plan to be a straightforward experience.
That said, most problems with using eSIMs stem from compatibility issues or users not being sure of how to install an eSIM profile and set it up for activation. We’ll show you how it all works in the following tutorials.
How to Install Jetpac eSIM
There are three ways to install a Jetpac eSIM — automatically, via QR code or manually. If you use the QR code method, you’ll need a second device to scan from if your phone doesn’t support camera app scanning.
Let’s go over how to buy and install your Jetpac plan. You’ll need to be connected to the internet before you start, and your device must be unlocked. Note that wording in your phone settings will vary depending on whether you’re using an iPhone or an Android phone. We installed our plan on an iPhone.
Though not mandatory, we recommend labeling your Jetpac plan when prompted during the installation process. This helps avoid confusion when you go into the settings later.
- Buy a Plan
First, make sure your device is eSIM-compatible. Then, browse the plans in Jetpac’s app and select one that works for you. Scroll down to “continue to checkout” to pay.
- Prompt Installation
Click the in-app installation prompt if you see one. Alternatively, scan the QR code in the email Jetpac sent after you bought your plan. You’ll find detailed guides in the “manage my eSIM” part in the “help” tab, under “how to set up my eSIM?“
- Click the Activation Prompt
Once you’ve launched the installation, follow the prompts. These may vary depending on the device and installation method. If you wish to use your data plan right away, set Jetpac as your cellular source when prompted. Leave your primary line as the default line. If you don’t need to use your plan yet, go to the activation guide below when you are ready.
How to Activate Jetpac eSIM
Whether you’re en route to your destination or have already arrived, follow these steps to ensure your Jetpac plan can activate. Again, note that phone settings look different depending on whether you’re using an Android or an iPhone. We used an iPhone for these examples, but Jetpac has detailed installation and activation guides for both devices.
- Turn On Jetpac in Settings
Go to “settings” and “cellular” (iPhone), or to “connections” or “network & internet” (Android), and enter the SIM management area. On an iPhone, simply scroll down. On an Android, go to “SIM card manager” or “mobile network.” Toggle the Jetpac plan on and make sure data roaming is enabled.
- Set Jetpac as the Data Source
Instead of your primary line, make sure Jetpac is set as your cellular data source.
- Turn Off Data Switching
Locate the automatic data switching option in your “cellular”/“connections”/“network & internet” settings and disable it. This ensures your primary line won’t activate and incur charges if your eSIM network drops.
Coverage
Jetpac covers more than 200 destinations with a mix of global, regional and local plans. This is the same number as most competitors, but some regional Jetpac plans cover less ground than top competitors.
For example, Jetpac’s global plan covers 95 countries, while Airalo’s data-only global plan covers 138. Likewise, Jetpac’s Europe plan covers 30 countries compared to Airalo’s 42. Nevertheless, if you don’t need very broad coverage in these regions, Jetpac is a great budget provider.
Pricing: How Much Does Jetpac eSIM Cost?
Jetpac costs $1 for 1GB for new users, valid for four days (excluding the Africa regional plan). Though this isn’t exactly the same as a free trial, you have four days to get a feel for Jetpac while spending very little.
After that, pricing typically starts at $4 for 1GB, but you’ll see more variation with plans above 1GB. Check out the pricing tables further down to learn more.
Country Pricing Plan Breakdown
The first detail we noticed about Jetpac’s pricing was its 40GB and 50GB plans in some destinations — not all eSIM providers offer this. However, these plans are typically valid for only 10 or 30 days.
Once you’ve used up your 1GB of data for $4, you can expect to pay the prices listed in the table below in some popular tourist destinations (with validity periods).
Jetpac often has discounts available. We have included only the usual pricing, as discount prices are subject to change. In addition, note that the 1GB plans are part of the regional plans. For example, the 1GB India plan is part of the Asia Pacific plan, meaning you get coverage in 16 countries. However, a 3GB India plan covers just India.

Unlimited Plans
Originally a fixed data provider, Jetpac has recently rolled out unlimited plans in 37 destinations. This means you can choose from a seven-day or 15-day plan and get unlimited data for that period. However, due to the fair usage policy, you get a maximum of 3GB of high-speed data per day, after which speeds will slow down.
The breakdown below details what unlimited plan pricing currently looks like (excluding limited-time offers, which are available at the time of writing but may change):

Some of the countries the unlimited plans cover include the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Indonesia, Japan and a number of European countries.
Global and Regional Pricing
While Jetpac’s global coverage isn’t the broadest (95 countries), it’s not bad — and you can buy a 1GB global plan for very cheap. Global and regional plans with more than 1GB are also cheaper on average than those of many competitors, but in some cases, the validity periods are shorter.
For example, Jetpac’s 5GB global plan costs $25 and is valid for 30 days. Airalo’s global data-only 5GB plan costs $35, but the validity period is 60 days. Likewise, we noticed that 30 days is the maximum for many Jetpac regional plans. Bear this in mind when choosing your plan. That said, Jetpac offers 50GB and 100GB global plans, but Airalo and Saily don’t.
We have covered only some of the Jetpac regions in this table. In addition to those in the table, Jetpac has specific plans for Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and Oceania, plus a plan covering China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Speed
Jetpac supports 4G and 5G in many countries, including most countries on the global plan. However, this isn’t the case for every country Jetpac covers; some African countries, for example, do not list 4G or 5G support.
As with all eSIM plans, factors like the remoteness of your location, the time of day and network availability can impact speeds. In our case, we were browsing with a 5G connection within about 20 seconds of activating our plan.
Customer Support
It’s all fun and games until something doesn’t work as expected. Luckily, there are three ways to contact Jetpac’s support team: WhatsApp, website or in-app chat, and email.
Live Chat Support Speed & Quality
We were very happy with our Jetpac website live chat support experience. A human (earning Jetpac bonus points) responded within seconds when we signaled that we needed more help than the bot could offer. All of the information was clear and delivered in a friendly manner.
There was some initial confusion on one occasion when we reached out via WhatsApp, but it was rectified after a few minutes.
Jetpac Perks and Add-Ons
In addition to its budget-friendly pricing and regular discounts, Jetpac is known for its free and paid perks and add-ons, including the ones listed next.
Jetpac eSIM Not Working: What to Do
If your eSIM plan doesn’t work as expected, it usually has something to do with the way your phone’s settings are configured. Most importantly, do not delete your Jetpac eSIM profile — you may not be able to reinstall it in the future. If you’re sure your plan hasn’t simply expired, try these troubleshooting tips if you’re having issues:
- Check that Jetpac is enabled: As demonstrated in the tutorial further up, go into your SIM settings and make sure your Jetpac plan and data roaming are turned on.
- Check your cellular source: Look in your “cellular”/“network & internet”/“connections” settings to see if Jetpac is set as your cellular/mobile data source. If not, make it the source.
- Update your device: Outdated versions of operating systems may interfere with your eSIM plan. Check for recent updates.
- Reset network settings: This may help fix a dysfunctional eSIM, but it also means your WiFi password will be forgotten. Make sure you know the WiFi password before trying this method.
- Restart your phone: Try restarting your phone to see if that solves the problem.
- Switch networks: Go into the available networks list in your Jetpac settings and pick a different one.
- Contact Jetpac support: If nothing else solves the problem, reach out to Jetpac’s support team via WhatsApp or the in-app chat.
Jetpac eSIM vs Other eSIM Providers
The eSIM market has been exploding in recent years, with new services popping up here, there and everywhere. As a result, providers have to fight to stand out. While Jetpac is a respectable service that we’re happy to recommend, it might not be the best eSIM for your particular needs. Below is a list of some of the best Jetpac eSIM alternatives we’ve tested.
Jetpac eSIM vs Airalo
Airalo is more expensive than Jetpac overall, but its validity periods are longer on many plans. Plus, Airalo has a free trial in some countries (learn more in our Airalo review).
Airalo’s coverage is also better on some regional plans, including the global (137/138 countries), Europe (42 countries) and Middle East plans (13 countries).
However, some Jetpac plans go up to 40GB or 50GB, while the equivalent Airalo plans don’t. For example, Airalo’s U.S. plan goes up to 20GB, while Jetpac’s goes up to 50GB (not counting the unlimited plans). Nevertheless, Jetpac’s 50GB plan is valid for only 10 days.
Jetpac eSIM vs Saily
Like Airalo, Saily’s validity periods tend to be longer and its global plan has better coverage (113 countries), but Jetpac is cheaper. The data allowance for Jetpac’s global plan ranges from 1GB to 100GB, while Saily’s global plan is capped at 20GB.

Also worth bearing in mind is that the speed for an unlimited data plan still depends on network availability, location and other factors, just like standard eSIM plans.
