Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the better comedies on TV, which was demonstrated by the heavy celebrity support it received after being cancelled by Fox. NBC picked it up for season six, thankfully, and it doesn’t seem to be going off the air any time soon.
We’re here to help you get caught up on what’s happening in the wacky NY precinct. In this guide on how to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we’ll show you every way to watch the show, be it online or on your couch. Outside of the streaming platforms that host it, we’ll also show you a few ways to watch for free.
Watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine Online
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is available to stream on Hulu and Netflix, but only in certain parts of the world. On Hulu, it’s U.S.-only, as are all Hulu shows, thanks to the strict distribution geoblocks put in place by networks such as NBC. NBC has a strong presence on Hulu with shows such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Saturday Night Live streaming the day after the episode airs.
That also brings with it a large number of ads. It seems like NBC shows have more ads than normal, especially when you’re streaming the episode close to the air date. A similar problem has been showing up with the recent reboot of The Twilight Zone (read our how to watch The Twilight Zone guide).
Netflix doesn’t have ads, thankfully, but only EU residents will be able to stream there. Once again, because of the distribution NBC has chosen for the show, U.S. residents need to stream on Hulu, while EU residents stream on Netflix.
There’s a way to access either platform, no matter where you are in the world, though. Using a virtual private network, you can appear as though you’re in another geographical location virtually. It connects you to a remote server before sending your traffic to the open internet. That way, the VPN can disguise your IP address and make it seem like you’re somewhere else.
Unfortunately, not all VPNs are created equal, and Netflix and Hulu have gone out of their way to ensure your connection is blocked if you’re using one. If you’re going the legit route to stream Brooklyn Nine-Nine, read our best VPN for Hulu and best VPN for Netflix guides. Our choices in both have proven time and again that they can break through the walls of Hulu and Netflix.
Watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine for Free
Netflix and Hulu are great, but they cost money. Fret not, though, there are ways to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine for free. Browsing around, we found seasons four and five on Couchtuner and all six seasons on Europix.
That said, you should use a VPN here, too. Websites such as Couchtuner and Europix aren’t legal, and by using them, you may be putting yourself at risk. Make sure you’re protected with the most secure VPN before going to stream. We recommend ExpressVPN (read our ExpressVPN review).
An antivirus isn’t a bad idea, either. Considering streaming copyrighted content is somewhat of a cybercrime anyway, streaming platforms like Couchtuner and Europix are breeding grounds for malware. If you’re not interested in infecting your machine with, say, ransomware, you should probably use a pick from our best antivirus software guide.
Our most secure antivirus software guide is a good place to look, too. We’ll spoil it and let you know that Bitdefender Antivirus took the crown in both (read our Bitdefender Antivirus review).
Pop-ups are also a problem with this category of streaming platforms, so read our best pop-up blockers guide, as well.
Watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Kodi
If you’d rather watch on your couch, Kodi is a good option. Our Kodi guide goes deep on how the platform works, but the short of it is that Kodi is an open source media player that can enable you to stream almost anything. Through the use of unofficial add-ons, Kodi can find copyrighted streams around the web for free.
Our best Kodi add-ons guide shows our favorites, so read that for recommendations. What you’re looking for here is an add-on that can scrub sources, such as Couchtuner and Europix, and compile a list of streams. Kodi does the heavy lifting so all you need to do is press play.
Just because you can use Kodi on your couch doesn’t mean you’re out of the legal woods, though. Our is Kodi legal guide talks about the nuances of what’s legal and what isn’t, but for the most part, streaming copyrighted content is a no-no in most countries. As with streaming online, you should use a VPN.
Our best VPN for Kodi guide shows our favorites for the platform, but you can use a pick from our best VPN for streaming guide, too. CyberGhost ranks well in both, largely thanks to its range of streaming-specific servers (read our CyberGhost review).
Watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine Torrent
If you want to avoid streaming, you can torrent Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Torrenting is the process of downloading a file by connecting to multiple computers. Those computers each share a small part of the file, which combines on your machine to form the whole.
Because it isn’t centralized, torrenting gets weird when it comes to legality. Our is torrenting illegal guide talks about the dos and don’ts, but as with Kodi, it’s best to stay protected either way. The needs of torrenters are different, though, so consult our best VPN for torrenting guide for recommendations.
NordVPN ranks at the top because of its range of servers designed for torrenting. The connections torrenting clients use consume a lot of data, on top of being dangerous, so it’s important to use a quality VPN when you’re pirating. NordVPN fits the bill, as you can see in our NordVPN review.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is easy to find. You can watch the show from the source through Hulu and Netflix, but Europix and Couchtuner provide alternatives if you’re looking to save a few bones. No matter where you stream, make sure you’re protected with a VPN. You can read up on our best VPNs to find the best one for you.
